scientist day
Last Thursday it was scientist day seven experiments to develop Bubbly drink,Dissolving,Static electricity,Magic balloon,Will it mix,Diving currants and Corny goo.My favourite activity was Corny goo because it was really fun and cool.I liked Static electricity too because everyone rubbed it in my hair.It was a very tiring and exhasting day.Our first experiment that my group did was diving currants the currants were bouncing up and down.We had fun with the balloon in static electricity. We had parent helpers too with the help of year sevens the activity that the year sevens were at was will it mix? we mixed every item that we had in the water we mixed oil, vinegar, sunscreen, full cream milk. The oil did not mix in the water but it looked like sparkly water I liked the oil on how it mixed it looked really cool.In bubbly drink we had to squeeze fresh oranges and we had to use the juice for the experiment we added sugar to the freshly squeezed orange juice we had to taste it tasted really gross then we added more sugar it tasted even more gross than less sugar then finally we had normal orange juice that slightly tasted better but still naturally worse.I wore 3d glasses to look like a scientist but the worse thing was I forgot my scientist coat! I almost got corny goo on my uniform at least I jumped! then that was the end of scientist day.

Beenleigh Historical Village
3F went on an excursion we learnt how to wash clothes in the past and had to wash them differently. We watched a movie a about sugar canes and who owns the farms of the sugar canes. We went to a school that had a massive rules chart and paper was to expensive for them so they used mini black boards and a special pencil to write on it.We went to a post office and learnt how to make news papers it is very confusing how they type news papers without a computer. They use irons differently because they have to set out a fire to heat it but it gets cold quick so they have to swap irons.I think they have changed because they didn't have electricity in those days so they had to use other materials such as steel and wood. They lived differently because they didn't have good materials for houses.

3F plants
Our group is shallots. They have a black little seed on top. They are still not big enough or strong enough to dig in the ground. My groups plant is a vegtable. Our groups plant will die if we plant it this week. The beans were planted in the ground first. The beans were easy too grow so thats why all of us are planting beans in a cup not with soil with cotton balls we don't really know if it will grow.

Speeches to grade one
We teached grade one a few weeks ago about healthy me and exercise. Some of us chose healthy me or exercise. Healthy me was an easier choice for teaching the grade ones exercise is a harder choice for a speech. The girls had a boy and the boys had a girl. I teached a grade oner about healthy food. Some of my friends chose exercise and healthy me.

Ngutana-Lui
We went to a place called Ngutana-Lui. We did Aboriginal dancing. The boys had to do a special boys aboriginal dance. The girls dance was picking up Berrie's and putting them in a basket. The people that taught us were Lisa, Marlin, Robert, Uncle-Wally. With Lisa we had a bush walk they use long pieces of grass to brush there teeth. They also use a special eucalyptus leaf to wash there-self. We came from Beenleigh to Wood ridge. Robert taught us how to throw a boomerang and what the sign's mean and look like from there aboriginal painting's. With Marlin he showed us how they hunt and i was an emu and he was going to knock me out and kill me for demonstration. And uncle Wally showed us a turtle shell and a achievement mask that they get when they are fully trained with hunting. We drawed a spirit with Robert.Lisa showed us what they use for cooking. They did not have pots and pans and tooth brushes and tooth paste they use bush nature. I guessed a eucalyptus oil leaf from lisa's bush walk.

Apples ain't Apples
We learned about how apples grow in seasons. We did apple taste testing and we tasted a green one and red one.We got free pencil cases from the lady who came to show us about apples. They told us they got flooded. We saw different types of fruits and vegies. In this picture she is showing us where the apples had grown. These are red apples growing in an apple farm.:)
